The Prizes have been Awarded by a panel of five esteemed judges.This prestigious award was  chosen from amongst the nominated films, meaning all films entered into any category were automatically eligible. There is currently a prize total of $800 USD (split as follows: Fiction film $250, Documentary $250, Student film $150, Poetry Film $150)


The Newlyn Film Festival is open to everyone, regardless of your age, experience or genre of your film and there’s an award that could be yours, the different categories are: Best Fiction Film Prize (under 45 minutes), Best Student Film (under 15 minutes, open to any genre of Fiction or Documentary film including animation, and experimental. If the film is not in English then English subtitles are required.) and Best Documentary ( 45 minutes or less, Open to all documentary films, if the film is not in English then English subtitles are required). There is a special prize for Poetry Films (six minutes or less).
