Awards 2020
The Awards will be awarded by a panel of esteemed judges and these awards will be chosen from amongst the nominated films meaning all films entered into any category are automatically eligible.
Award Certificates will be presented to the winner in each of these categories:
Animation
Documentary
Student Film
Poetry Film
Fiction Film
Best Woman Director
The film must be directed by a woman and the script must feature a female protagonist.
Short Screenplay – Under 30 pages.
Best Cornish Film – Made by a Cornish Director or filmed in Cornwall.
Conditions for 2020 Festival
The Newlyn Film Festival is open to everyone, regardless of your age, experience or genre of your film and there’s an award that could be yours, the different categories are:
Best Fiction Film (under 45 minutes)
Best Student Film (under 45 minutes, open to any genre of Fiction or Documentary film including experimental
Best Documentary ( 45 minutes or less)
Best Woman Director (45 minutes or less)
Best Animation Film (45 minutes or less)
Best Poetry Film (fifteen minutes or less).
Best Scriptwriting for a fiction film (not more than 30 pages)
Best Cornish Film (under 45 minutes)
If the film is not in English then English subtitles are required
Please contact us if you are unsure as to your film’s eligibility. All submissions are preferred in standard digital HD format. All films submitted to Film Freeway.Film makers must make sure that they give the festival the right to download their film for viewing purposes.
